Artificial intelligence
We will tell you where AI pays for itself, and where it does not.
Most AI advice in the UK comes from people whose income depends on you saying yes. Ours does not. We charge for the work of reaching an honest answer — and if the answer is that AI will not pay you back this year, we say so, we stop there, and there is nothing further to pay.
The problem with the market
Most AI projects do not survive contact with a real business
This is not scepticism for its own sake. It is what the research consistently shows, and it is the reason we work the way we do.
42% scrapped most of it
Of businesses surveyed across North America and Europe, 42% abandoned most of their AI initiatives in 2025 — up from 17% the year before. The average organisation scrapped 46% of proofs of concept before production.
S&P Global Market Intelligence, reported March 2025
Only 4% see substantial value
Across 1,000 executives in 59 countries, 74% struggle to scale value from AI and just 4% generate substantial value. Critically, BCG puts 70% of the difficulty down to people and process, 20% to technology and 10% to the algorithms.
BCG, October 2024
Unclear business value is the top cause
Gartner predicted at least 30% of generative AI projects would be abandoned after proof of concept, naming poor data quality, weak risk controls, escalating costs and unclear business value.
Gartner, July 2024
Read that BCG split again, because it decides everything: 70% of the problem is people and process. That is the layer your incumbent IT partner can see and a parachuted AI consultant cannot. It is the entire reason we think this work belongs with whoever already understands how your business actually runs.
How we work
The ladder — and you can get off at any rung
AI Reality Check
30 minutes, on a call
Free
- Tell us the job you want AI to do
- We tell you straight whether it is a job for AI
- If a tool you already pay for does it, we name the tool and end the call
- No deck, no discovery theatre
The AI Verdict
Two weeks, fixed scope
£1,500 fixed
- A Do list — two or three opportunities, each with build cost, running cost and payback in months
- A Do-not list — everything we looked at and rejected, with the reason
- A “you already own this” list — what your existing licences and systems already do
- A data-readiness verdict: can your data actually support the output you would be trusting?
- A one-page risk and governance note
- A 45-minute readout with your leadership team
Proof of Value pilot
Four to six weeks, one workflow
£4,500 – £9,000
- We measure the baseline before we start — hours, error rate, cycle time
- One workflow only, done properly
- Published kill criteria: if it does not beat the baseline by the agreed margin, we stop
- You keep the measurements either way
Build and embed
Fixed scope, agreed up front
from £15,000
- Full build, integrated with what you already run
- Adoption included, not sold separately
- We do not call it done when the automation works — we call it done when the time it saves has gone somewhere
AI support and governance
Monthly, cancel any time
£250 – £750/mo
- Usage and cost review — AI bills drift, badly
- Prompt and tool maintenance as models change
- Policy upkeep as the law moves
- Shadow AI detection across your estate
- A quarterly value report in plain English
Private deployment
For regulated or data-sensitive work
Quoted
- Models running in your own tenancy
- UK data residency
- Nobody trains on your data
- Full audit trail
Our commitment on the Verdict
We charge for the Verdict because reaching an honest answer takes real work — going through your systems, your data and your processes properly takes two weeks, and we have to cover that.
But we will not charge you for anything beyond it. If our conclusion is that AI will not deliver a real benefit in your business this year, you get that in writing, with the reasoning, and that is where it ends. No build proposal. No retainer pitch. No follow-up quote three weeks later.
Every consultancy in this market says it will be honest with you. We would rather you were able to check.
Governance
What actually applies to you, accurately
A lot of AI selling runs on manufactured deadline pressure. Here is the honest position as it stands in 2026.
There is no UK AI Act
AI is regulated in the UK at the point of use, through the regimes you already live under. UK GDPR applies. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 brought Articles 22A to 22D into force on 5 February 2026, moving automated decision-making from prohibited-by-default to permitted-with-safeguards. A statutory duty for an ICO code of practice followed in May 2026, with final guidance expected during the year.
The EU AI Act probably is not your problem
It applies extraterritorially — so it matters if you sell into the EU or your systems affect EU citizens. If you do, the dates that bite are 2 December 2027 for standalone high-risk systems and 2 August 2028 for AI embedded in regulated products. If you do not, anyone waving those dates at you is selling something.
The four questions everybody actually asks
Where does my data actually go?
We tell you, per tool, before you commit — which provider, which region, and whether it leaves the UK. If that answer is unacceptable for your data, we say so and we look at a private deployment instead.
Does it train someone else’s model?
Depends entirely on the tool and the tier. This is one of the things we check for you rather than expecting you to read the terms of service yourself.
Who at Eazi IT can see it?
Named individuals, listed in your engagement, with access logged. Not “the team”.
What happens when it gets something wrong?
The right answer is designed in before you go live: what a human must sign off, what is logged, and how you find out. If a process cannot tolerate being wrong occasionally, it goes on the do-not list — see the No List.
Do you use AI in your own work for us?
Yes, and we will tell you exactly where. Research and first drafts are often machine-assisted; analysis, recommendations and anything we put our name to are reviewed by a person who is accountable for them. Given that around 70% of buyers say they would not trust a consulting report produced with AI, we think you are entitled to know rather than to guess.
